Invisalign aligners are nearly invisible. No one may even notice that you're wearing these virtually invisible aligners, making Invisalign a seamless fit with your lifestyle and day-to-day interactions with others.

Invisalign aligners are removable giving you the flexibility to eat and drink what you want during treatment by simply removing the aligners. And you can also remove the aligners to brush and floss as you normally would for fresh breath and to maintain good oral hygiene.

Unlike traditional fixed braces, there are no metal brackets or wires. This means that in most cases less time is spent in your Invisalign Provider's practice for adjustments.

And finally, Invisalign allows you to view your virtual results and treatment plan before you even begin treatment so you can see how your teeth are expected to look when your treatment is complete.

When you begin your Invisalign treatment, you will wear each set of custom-made aligners in two-week increments. As you progress through the series of aligners, your teeth will begin moving, little by little, gradually moving towards the projected final position. During this time you will have occasional check-ups with your Invisalign Provider in order to monitor your progress and ensure you are comfortable with the treatment.

The time it takes to complete the treatment varies from person to person, depending on the complexity of each straightening issue. It is important to speak with your Invisalign Provider to determine how Invisalign best suits your situation and goals, and to agree the best way forward for you.

1. How does it work?
   Based on your Doctor's diagnosis a 3D simulation of your tooth movement and final result is made. Once approved by your Doctor, a series of aligners are custom made in Align Technology's laboratories using advanced 3D computer imaging technology. You wear each aligner for two weeks before replacing it with the next aligner in the series until your teeth have been moved to the position prescribed by your doctor.
2. How do I get started with Invisalign?
   After your initial evaluation with your Doctor, you will discuss your goals for a new smile. This information will then be used to plan your treatment, take impressions and photographs of your teeth and smile. With advanced computer technology the Doctor can then show you a 3D simulation of how your final smile could look, before you even start your treatment.
3. How long does the Invisalign treatment take?
   The total duration of treatment depends on the complexity of the treatment and is generally comparable to that of traditional braces. Typically treatment can last between 9 and 18 months. During your consultation, your Invisalign Provider can provide you with more detailed information.
4. How often must the aligners be worn?
   The aligners should be worn for 20 to 22 hours a day for the best results. Every 2 weeks you change to a new aligner and we recommend a check-up once every 4 - 6 weeks.
5. Do the aligners hurt?
   The smooth aligners are not harmful to the inside of your mouth, however it is normal to feel some pressure during the first days after you change to a new aligner. This is a good sign, as it means the aligners are moving your teeth.
